Streetlighting Issue in Barham – as at 6th January 2025
As many of you may have noticed, there has been an ongoing issue with streetlighting in Barham. The Parish Council understands how important reliable streetlighting is for the safety and convenience of our community, and we want to assure you that we’re taking the matter seriously.
The streetlights have been out again in recent days, marking the second time in recent weeks that this issue has occurred. We’re aware of how frustrating this can be, especially as it impacts the security and quality of life for those who rely on the lights in the evenings.
We’ve already been in touch with the streetlighting contractor to ensure that the issue is addressed promptly. In addition, UK Power Networks (UKPN) will be in the Parish to investigate whether the loss of power to the streetlights is linked to the power cut that occurred yesterday (5th January 2025).
We will keep you updated as we learn more and will continue to work to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
Thank you to those who have reported the problem, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you notice any further issues. We truly appreciate your patience and cooperation as we get this sorted.
Stay safe, and we’ll keep you posted!
